Hi, my name is Christy Tackwell and I work with adults, teens and children in my private practice. I would say that I am eclectic and use both traditional and alternative forms of therapy such as Art Therapy and EMDR. I believe in a good working relationship in order to build trust so that the client is comfortable. The client is accepted for who they are and where they are. I believe in creating a safe and confidential environment so that the person can move at their own pace towards their therapy goals. Identifying issues and possible solutions is very important. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of adults, teens and children who present a variety of issues. These issues include depression, mood disorder, anxiety, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, adjustments to life upsets and changes as well as loss and grief. I use traditional counseling and art therapy. I enjoy working with personal symbols.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Professional Art Therapist. "Talk" therapy is but one modality in a broad spectrum of techniques. Art Therapy not only uses verbal expression, but visual expression in order to unfold stories and assist clients on their journey of self awareness.
