I'm an experienced psychologist with a flexible, integrative therapeutic approach. In a respectful, collaborative environment, we help you understand, develop a sense of safety and trust, access your vitality and innate capacity for healing and growth, and find adaptive solutions to painful, confusing, repetitive and unproductive patterns and life situations. My specialties include trauma/abuse; depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues; school, work and relationship problems; creativity; grief/loss; eating disorders; sexuality/sex therapy; illness/chronic pain/aging; lgbti/alt lifestyles; and immigration/acculturation issues. I work with individuals, couples and families, primarily in-person; phone/video are possible long-distance options.
My relational, psychodynamic foundation is enriched by past and current training in: trauma/crisis, integrative mind-body approaches (mindfulness, EMDR, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Focusing, experiential/somatic/art/movement therapies), eating disorders, and sex/couples therapy. I also have a public health specialty in national and international mental health/human rights abuses.
