I'm an experienced psychologist with a flexible, integrative therapeutic approach. In a respectful, collaborative environment, we help you to better understand, gain trust and a sense of safety, access your vitality and innate capacity for growth, heal emotionally, and develop adaptive solutions to painful, confusing, repetitive and unproductive patterns and life situations. My specialties include trauma/abuse; depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues; school/work and relationship problems; creativity; grief/loss; eating disorders; sexuality/sex therapy; illness/chronic pain/aging; lgbti/alt lifestyles; and immigration/acculturation issues. I work with individuals, couples and families, primarily in-person; phone/skype are possible long-distance options.
My relational, attachment-focused, psychodynamic foundation is enriched by past and current training in: trauma/crisis, integrative mind-body approaches (mindfulness, EMDR, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Focusing, experiential/somatic/art/movement therapies), eating disorders, sex/couples therapy. I also have a public health specialty in national and international mental health/human rights abuses.
