All of us, each one of us, needs help sometime in our lives. We are not made to go it alone --we need a safe place, with a safe person to explore our important questions. My most advanced degree is a specialty in Somatic Psychology. That training enables me to work with the psychological, physical, and emotional complexities of human experience. I treat people who have experienced all types of trauma. I also work with those experiencing depression, anxiety, and all types of relationship issues. These are simply a few of the issues people bring to therapy.
People cannot be filed into simple categories; we are complicated beings who need to be understood as whole individuals with unique histories. I approach each person I work with from that perspective; seeking to understand their uniqueness and wholeness. My background and education combine in a way that makes my approach relational, empathetic, and exploratory.
I supervise and train other therapists who are early in their careers. Part of my practice includes providing consultations for other experienced therapist in the area of Somatic psychology. With more than 20 years of experience I am well seasoned in the process of change.
