Elaine Archambeau's Groups
This group is concerned with people who often experience the "not enoughness syndrome" and find themselves trying to be perfect. As one is caught in this bind, social skills can become awkward and authenticity or being genuine can be lost.Coming to terms with "flaws" is encouraged. This group will look to provide the safety necessary to begin to develop more satisfying relationships.
People with invisible illnesses are often feel on the outside and find themselves being judged, criticized or misunderstood by friends, family and coworkers. Social isolation and alienation are sources of difficulty. This group will provide some of the support that may be lacking at this juncture in people's lives. The group will explore new ways of managing their illness and challenging social aspects. Pacing energy in order to have longer times of functioning is a focus as well.
