I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Duke University and have twenty-six years of clinical experience treating adults, children, and families. I have postgraduate training in psychoanalytic, family systems, and cognitive-behavior therapy. I also specialize in treating families undergoing divorce. I treat adults in individual, family, and couples therapy. I enjoy seeing a wide variety of clients presenting with problems ranging from common life stresses to major mental illnesses. With children and adolescents, I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders, including childhood Bipolar Disorder. I am also experienced in working with ADHD and Learning Disabilities.
Because of my interests, I have worked with many individuals and families in my practice for a number of years. I often treat children and adolescents with serious mental illnesses through young adulthood. Families I have worked with in the past often call me again if new issues arise.
I have a particular interest in complex individuals and families, especially those who have had difficulty making progress working with previous therapists.
