Elliot Weiner, PhD, Psychologist in New York
I am one of the co-founders of NYCBT, a group private practice in downtown Manhattan. I specialize in the treatment of PTSD as well as other trauma-related issues. In addition, I specialize in treating a variety of problems related to depression and anxiety including worry, rumination, social anxiety, panic, and phobias. I often work with clients on issues associated with emotion regulation difficulties such as family and relationship problems, trouble succeeding in school or at work, anger management, impulsivity, self-harm, and suicidal thinking and behavior.
Prior to founding NYCBT I worked in a private group practice specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy where I created and directed a Trauma and PTSD program.
In addition to my work as a therapist I have presented my research on trauma and PTSD at international conferences, provide trainings and lectures on the treatment of PTSD for other mental health specialists, and provide supervision and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to psychiatry residents.
