I am the only certified Sex Therapist in northern Colorado with distinguished Diplomate status with The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) . I provide individual, couples and group therapy. My group therapist certification informs my groups for Women in Pursuit of Passion & Women, Body Image and Food group. A goal is to help clients articulate the emotions disguised in communication that has compromised their relationships. Clients frequently report feeling encouraged after our meetings. I bring 25 + years of experience & the benefit of training with the greats in the field. Tailoring treatment to who you are is central.
As a Diplomate Sex Therapist I have expertise in sexuality & its impact in people's lives. A common sexual question is, "Am I normal?" leading to shame & pain. I support clients in exploring their & their partner's sexuality in a comprehensive & compassionate manner. We will address all related relationship concerns.
I believe people are more multifaceted than their diagnoses. With clients' permission my placid Golden Retriever therapy dog is present in the sessions. My home office setting allows for utmost privacy. Please include your phone number in an email as it is beneficial to have phone contact prior to meeting.

J J Levy's Groups

Women, Body Image & Food

Free yourself from body image & food preoccupation once and for all. We will identify the sequence of events that leads to compulsive eating and body image distress. The sequence begins with unrealistic beliefs leading to anxiety, which leads to blood sugar fluctuations and then to seemingly out of control eating. By intervening at the first step you learn how to free yourself from the pain of this sequenced pattern. You willidentify your unrealistic beliefs, change those to realistic beliefs, develop a non-punitive mind-set about food, learn to enjoy what you eat and eat what you enjoy.

Women in Pursuit of Passion

Do you wonder what happened to the fun, light hearted woman you once were? Are your days weighted with responsibility and without play? Is sex an obligation to a partner and not for yourself? Many women lose their passion by trying to be everything to everyone. This stress is common in women. This leaves women without much zest in life. There is little time, energy and even will to pursue one's own passions. As women explore such themes in group they rediscover former and budding passions. Ultimately, passionate living is living powerfully. Therefore, these groups are empowering and fun.
