My approach to therapy involves acceptance of each client as a unique, worthwhile person, with value. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the key to recovery. Important ingredients in this relationship include empathy, trust, warmth, genuineness, and a non-judgmental attitude. I believe that every human is capable of self-discovery, change and growth. It is my task to help my client find his/her own individual way. As tools, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy and other approaches designed to treat the individual. Web therapy is available through Skype.
I am proficient in play therapy for matter the age. I often use CBT/RBT to help clients change the way they think. I have worked in a variety of settings including public schools, in-patient rehab, prison, clinics, hospitals and private practice.
I am passionate about history, art and the study of the human condition. I truly love people. My practice is literally private in it's location. I presently serve clients within a 100 mile radius. I take most insurance including Medicaid. I take private pay. I utilize a sliding scale.
