Jenifer Balch, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S, CAS, Licensed Professional Counselor in Dallas
I am passionate about working with children and families, especially utilizing play therapy and parent training. I have an appreciation for uniqueness in every individual and work to tailor the counseling process to the developmental needs of each client. Treatment modalities may include play therapy, activity therapy, expressive arts, and/or traditional talk therapy. Additionally, my approach is informed by interpersonal neurobiology, a concept in counseling that uses neuroscience to inform counseling practice. I highly value my relationships with clients, working to build a therapeutic environment where each client feels safe, accepted, valued, and understood.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and Certified Autism Specialist. My counseling experience includes individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings. I have also received specialized training in the administration and interpretation of psychoeducational assessments.
I have extensive training and experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and feel passionate about advocating for their mental health needs. In addition to providing direct counseling services, I stay actively involved in training future counselors through supervising, teaching, and presenting at local and national level conferences.
