Jennifer Chapple, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Houston
I just might be the therapist for you if you are someone who feels stuck in life, unable to be free of your unhappiness. If you have lost faith in your abilities, unsure of your purpose in life, or if you find yourself frozen in fear unable to move through your problems and make decisions. As your therapist, I will help you not to judge yourself for these problems, but to accept and learn skills to manage them. Whatever it is that keeps you from living your best life, I would like to share my knowledge and skills with you.
I have completed intensive training for Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and can treat those clients needing this evidence-based treatment model. DBT has demonstrated effectiveness in treating people with severe emotion dysregulation problems. In DBT, clients learn, practice, and integrate skills in mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
I believe strongly in collaborating closely with treatment providers, while working with all parts of a client's environment to ensure effectiveness and success with the goals of treatment. I am frequently hired by parents to teach and coach them in behavior modification skills in shaping behaviors and positive reinforcement.

Adult DBT Skills Training

This is an evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training class. I teach all four modules of DBT skills in the areas of mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. The course follows the DBT curriculum in a classroom structure with two facilitators. Group members help each other with support and understanding of the skills, but do not process emotions or problems together. Group members are required to attend individual therapy to translate skills learned effectively into their daily lives.
