I see myself as someone who is trained teach you to recognize what is keeping you from feeling happy, determining what that would really be, and then helping you to change those thoughts, feelings or actions that are interfering with your becoming the person you can be. Occasionally that means recognizing an underlying disorder like depression and requires medical evaluation. Most of the time it is like the serenity prayer: accepting what you can not change, the strength to change what you can and the wisdom to know the difference.
I use a theoretical mix of Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help you determine what you want and need [often not necessarily what you think right now]and then to learn what you need to learn and do to achieve serenity and your goals.
