Judy Figura, LCSW, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Asheville
I am currently not accepting new clients.Life's crises and challenges can be difficult and often painful. They also offer us a chance to re-focus our attention and move forward in a healthy direction. From this vantage point, life's problems can be a pathway to self-growth. Therapy can be a helpful tool, as you seek healing and positive changes in your life. I work with individuals, couples, and families from ages 16 and up, who are facing difficult life transitions, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems, and recovery from traumatic events.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative, which means I bring to this work a strong appreciation for the uniqueness of each person, as together we work towards healing and growth. I am trained in several models, including: Psychodynamic; Cognitive- Behavioral; Solution-Focused; Family Systems; EMDR; and Mindfulness.
In my work with people, I take a holistic view that respects interactions between the physical, mental and emotional, social and spiritual needs of a each person. I have a strong interest in integrative, mind-body approaches for helping my clients achieve within themselves a sense of well-being.
