I love what I do. I connect well with clients and truly believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is essential for success. Former clients have noted my kind spirit, optimism, warmth and insight. I perceive therapy as a partnership, and I see every individual as a good human being made up of mind, body, and spirit...replete with strength and resilience. Hence, I work with the client's strengths while providing empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard. I work to educate in psychological theory, inspire insight, focus on personal empowerment, and motivate change.
A lot of my work involves relationships: parent-child, couples, and families.I tend to work well with young women and enjoy being a mentor and coach as well as a therapist. I have experience and knowledge in the area of divorce and often work with individuals that are navigating the trying and painful process.
Since I believe that all individuals should have access to effective mental health counseling, I will negotiate fees or a payment plan, as needed. Worthy of note, having spent 5 years in the counseling center of a large university, I have insight in to the 20-something lifestyle and mindset.
