Are you frustrated with reactions and behaviors that no longer work for you? How would you like to choose and negotiate what works best in relationships? My work includes the whole person and a clear understanding of the goals one wants to achieve in therapy. Techniques in session will be used to increase mind-body awareness and may include sensing one’s physical response in a conflict, exploring emotional holding patterns and past decisions that still exist. Together we will explore whether rigid or resigned patterns used are effective, learn and practice new ones that increase flexibility and choice.
My education is in Body-Oriented Family Therapy, and I am a Bodynamic Analyst, educated in a Danish model of psychomotor treatment and trauma repair. Brain integration techniques are combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Stress Reduction. I tailor specific approaches to the individual with whom I am working.
I understand the pleasures of human embodiment and the joy and power of experiencing one's personal authority. I am committed to helping people “return to their senses,” become resourced, responsive, and to enjoy the experience of healing.

Triple-P: Positive Parenting Program

Trained in evidence-based, Level 3 Standard, Level 4 Group, Enhanced, Pathways, and Standard Teen Group classes, this certified, Triple-P provider helps parents improve their connection and communication with children (18 months-12) and teens (13-18). Parents will set goals for change, identify triggers and accidental rewards for child misbehavior, practice quiet time and time-out strategies, and assert positive, re-affirming messages and rewards for good behavior. Participants must commit to a series of meetings (ranging from 4 - 7 times). Research indicates these classes help to reduce family conflict, anxiety and depression in parents and children.

Stress Reduction Skills

The Stress Reduction Skills Group will meet for four consecutive weeks, and meet for 1 1/4 hours each time. This group will explore the current research on the emotional and physiological effects of human stress. Participants will complete confidential, individual, stress assessments on their own experiences. Education will take place on the neuro-physiology of stress, and members will learn how to identify symptoms of a stress response and what interventions may help in coping with one. Stress reduction techniques will be introduced and practiced in class. Weekly stress reduction practices, or homework, will be encouraged and briefly explored.
