I am currently seeing NY residents by video and OH residents in person or by video. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who want help with disordered eating, anxiety, and/or depression. Exploring conscious and less conscious thoughts and feelings helps to bring internal conflicts to light and resolve emotional pain. I have a supportive and calm demeanor that helps people open up about their inner life and find new ways to cope. I often recommend use of nutritionists, physicians and other professionals to best address the whole person and reduce uncomfortable and relentless symptoms.
I have a unique interest and expertise treating type 1 diabetics with eating disorders. I work with physicians and diabetes educators to design a new individualized way to manage diabetes that takes into account emotional triggers influencing self care. I honor all cultural and spiritual backgrounds and am sensitive to LGBT individual, couples and families.
My training is psychodynamic, but I also use cognitive behavioral techniques, when appropriate, to address problems that are impacting life and happiness.
