Dr. Karina O'Brien

Psychologist , PhD , RPsych

(778) 800-1208
I'm a Registered Psychologist who works with people facing stress/anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and related concerns. I enjoy working with teens and adults. I do not use a "one size fits all" approach, but will tailor the approach to you after getting to know you during our first meetings. I typically use evidence-based and skills-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe families are important when working with teens, and involve families in treatment whenever this is possible.
My goal is to work collaboratively with you, and provide a safe space for growth, within a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment. I have years of specialized training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, and depression, and have worked in both hospital and clinic settings.
It is important to choose a therapist with specialized training and experience, and with whom you feel comfortable. Make sure you ask questions when you are interviewing prospective treatment providers! I welcome telephone calls, and would be pleased to speak with you about my practice, and answer any questions you might have.
