Laura Winters, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Chatham
I realize how difficult it can be taking the first step towards getting help. My approach to therapy is client-centered. Together, we will work on determining what the best steps are in making the changes you want in your life. I believe in focusing on each individual's strengths, while assisting them in making the necessary changes to live a full, healthy life.
My speciality is maternal mental health, which includes infertility struggles, prenatal/postpartum stress, and loss. If you are finding that motherhood is different than what you imagined, I can help. I also enjoy working with children and adolescents and incorporate creative interventions in our sessions.
I employ a holistic approach to therapy, encouraging clients to explore all avenues to improve their well-being. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I am certified in Emotional Freedom Technique, in which the client applies light pressure on acupressure points in order to alleviate distress. In my experience, this technique is particularly helpful for anxiety.
