Lauren Minear, RYT, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in New York
I am passionate about helping people live peaceful, embodied lives. My practice is informed by a commitment to social justice and my view of emotional suffering as triggered in part by the internalization of culture, relationships, and trauma. I use a holistic approach to facilitate self-determined healing; and integrate my training in feminist relational theory with mindfulness theory and practice to offer her clients a warm, collaborative, and focused treatment experience.
I specialize in the treatment of eating and body image problems, including eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dissatisfaction. I have also treated individuals suffering with anxiety, depression, trauma, medical issues, troubling relationships, and chronic pain.
I am uniquely qualified to provide adjunctive yoga therapy to individuals in eating disorder recovery. I also provide therapeutic yoga instruction to individuals who want to learn concrete movement, breathing, and mindfulness skills to manage uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, and to those who struggle feeling at home in their bodies.
