My approach is to therapy is collaborative, holistic and solution-focused. I offer gentle and supportive, yet action-oriented psychotherapy for couples, children, adults and families. In sessions, I'll draw upon your resiliency and strengths to help you navigate challenges such as affairs, divorce, difficulties with intimacy and sexuality, personal crisis or trauma, life transitions & parenting issues. My work utilizes a "whole person approach" to help you break destructive patterns or remove barriers that keep you stuck, frustrated and dissatisfied with your life or your relationships.
I believe the capacity for happiness and emotional health exists in everyone. When you realize this exists within you, hope replaces despair, and you are able to tap into your inner resources to deal with destructive patterns that cloud your life. It's my goal to help facilitate this shift.
In my work with couples & families, the focus is typically on identifying and then restructuring the emotional responses that perpetuate negative patterns of interaction (arguing, blaming, dismissing, defending, criticism and stonewalling). As a result, relationships become more trusting, loving and intimate.
