Nancy Morgan Scott, LCSW, ACSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Springfield
Are you unable to experience joy in your life? Do you want to feel more connected to your significant others? if you decide to work with me, together we will embark on a journey where we will discover what is interfering with a more satisfying life, and then change thoughts, behaviors and/or environments to create a life you love. Sometimes that involves looking at whether God does or doesn't feel present. Sometimes there are physiological factors at work, and medication may be helpful as an adjunct.
I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, including dual diagnosis programs, and thus have an appreciation of the bio-psycho-social factors that contribute to disease. I understand the psychodynamic nature of illness, and I help clients recognize and change their thoughts, to improve their feelings.
Pastoral counseling brings the "best of both worlds" to therapy. We can talk about life issues from a purely psychological perspective, or delve into whether God feels present or absent from your life. Either way, change is possible!
