I believe that children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties can overcome their issues with the help of caring individuals around them. I work with families to identify parent's and children’s strengths and then teach new skills to increase positive interactions and communication while decreasing behavioral issues within the family. I use play, art, sand tray, family activities and talk therapy to help children, adolescents and families who are struggling with issues such as ADHD, behavioral issues, anger, anxiety, abuse, developmental delays, depression and grief.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist and retired School Counselor and Special Education teacher. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have had specialized training in child development, difficulties and challenges experienced in childhood, and Play Therapy as a treatment for children and families.
As the owner of Sheer Heart Counseling and Consulting, my biggest priority is to provide a warm, compassionate, understanding and nonjudgmental environment to help individuals and families heal and live more joyful, healthy lives.
