Philip Littman, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Sacramento
Phil has been practicing as a psychotherapist since 1983 and started in private practice in 1987. His training and experience have emphasized working with adults in individual, couple, and group modalities. He focuses on creating a collaborative environment to help the client feel empowered and inspired to experience the changes they wish for their lifes. Clients often express feeling very comfortable with his genuiness, empathy, and unconditionalness.
Phil is an experienced EMDR practictioner. EMDR accelerates healing and recovery from PTSD and anxiety disorders. Phil's use of the Ennagram, can identify personality strengths to create a map for a long-term growth. The enneagram also helps couples understand their partners' personality type to form a stronger partnership.
A portion of his practice is also devoted to psychotherapy with clients in recovery for substance abuse and sexual addiction. From his eight years working in an outpatient alcoholism and chemical dependency center, Phil works adeptly at providing psychotherapy to complement recovery and 12-step involvement of his clients.

Philip Littman's Groups

Men's Group

Phil has facilitated weekly supportive psychotherapy men's groups for over 15 years. The experience of men's groups can help overcome social and emotional isolation that often accompany many difficulties for men. It gives men a safe place to be understood, share without shame, and be more relational in their lives. Men often enter the groups experiencing transitions such as ending a relationship or marriage: looking for more meaning from their lifes, going through a period of loss, depression, anxiety, or trauma; becoming a single father; or in the process of recovery (alcoholism, substance abuse, sexual addiction etc.)
