With more than 20 years of psychotherapy, testing and consulting experience, I have a broad range of skills and personalize treatment to people's needs. My style is collaborative, and my therapy orientation is integrative; (i.e., I use several therapeutic theories and techniques). I try to balance accepting others as they are with challenging them to try new behaviors and ways of thinking. I believe in authenticity yet also maintaining healthy boundaries, which demonstrate respect. My clients often appreciate my genuine caring and kind but firm manner, and they tend not to terminate therapy prematurely.
I work with thoughts, feelings and behaviors using a variety of strategies to promote insight and achieve goals. Changes might include adjustments in one's environment. In addition to traditional talk therapies, I might use hypnosis and EMDR. My strengths are solid training and experience, genuine caring, and easy rapport.
I have special training in trauma disorders, eating disorders, and stress related disorders although I will work with many other problems.
