Are you seeking peace of mind? Overwhelmed, sad, anxious, disoriented, angry, empty or adrift? I work well with adults, couples and adolescents who want to make changes in their lives. I take a holistic approach incorporating a blend of body-mind-spirit-emotions to enhance therapy. I can assist you to function more freely and effectively in the world. No matter how desperate our circumstances, we always have more choices, more chances, more options. Although problems are psychological in nature, the solution is spiritual. I can assist you to look within to uncover the solutions to troubles that you face, questions that you struggle with.
I have over 25 years of experience as a psychologist and have worked in a variety of settings before I began my private practice in 2003. I accept most insurances as an in-network provider and bill them directly, so you are only responsible for paying the deductible and co-payment, if you have them.
My guiding philosophy is to live a life that is not too arduous, not too comfortable, not too difficult, not too grandiose, and not too complicated. In October 2006 I was featured as the on-the-air psychologist on a radio show hosted by Kevyn Berger and Colleen Lindstrom on My Talk 107.1 FM.

Velma Wagner's Groups

Female-to-Male Transgender Group

This group is for FTM individuals to explore the issues and questions related to the transition process, such as: how one developed his male identity, body acceptance, relationship concerns, family issues, coming out at work, etc. Participants must identify as transgender or male and be living as male in most areas of their lives. Many people make deeper progress faster in group therapy than in individual psychotherapy. Groups provide a safe place to learn and practice new and healthy skills with the opportunity to receive immediate, honest feedback. Group participation may assist with meeting the Benjamin Standards of Care/ WPATH.
