Virginia Erdie, BFA, MAAT, ATR, Art Therapist in Hollywood
I am an experienced Clinical Art Therapist who wants to help you express yourself without relying on the use of language. I specialize in working with people who need to access their unconscious mind and thoughts so that they can temporarily break free from the chains of language. Verbal therapy is key to healing; art therapy is key to getting to the issue so that you can learn to identify your strengths and evolve through your vulnerabilities in a safe yet inspirational environment.
I obtained my Masters of Art in Art Therapy from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I studied fine art at the privately accredited Maryland Institute, College of Art, obtaining my BFA and studying abroad in Eastern Europe on scholarship. I currently work with substance abuse patients with dual diagnoses.
I have worked with clinical treatment teams as an art therapist in Chicago and Miami. My fine art background is helpful in guiding the client through a multitude of art techniques; my clinical art therapy background is helpful in identifying a client's psychological needs and assisting them, using my art therapy skills.
