Virginia Lindahl, PhD, Psychologist in Alexandria
I try to tailor therapy to the needs of the individual client, since every client has different issues and styles. I practice in a collaborative way with clients. I view the client as the expert on themselves and their issues, but I can offer expertise and skills that they do not have.
I see the client and myself as a team. Together, we test new ways of doing things, looking at issues, and experiencing the world. With children, I work closely with parents and other family members.
I offer psychological evaluations and have experience working with local schools and testing companies offering tests such as the SAT. I have a great deal of success helping individuals needing accommodations in the classroom or on standardized exams. Specifically, I offer cognitive/IQ testing, achievement testing, psychoeducational testing, personality evaluations, diagnostic evaluations, and admissions testing.
