Wendy Miriam Lafollette Wright, LCSW, MSW, PsyAnal, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Princeton
Do you have relational conflicts? I help Individuals, couples, teens and families to improve communications. In life we face challenging times: Loss, divorce, transitions and disappointments. Chronic pain, illness, grief and the loss of a loved one often compel individuals to seek therapy. I also specialize in adolescents and college students assisting them with a sense of self, growth and independence. Many issues occur, such as sexual identity, friendship conflicts, drugs and alcohol as well as academic challenges. Building trust in a safe place, the understanding may be transformed into growth and a new awareness of life and love can occur!
Once you feel safe and comfortable then the work begins. I have over twenty years of experience with adolescents. I worked in a residential treatment center assisting adolescents recover from traumatic experiences using art and traditional talk therapy. I also help families navigate through school systems advocating for their adolescent.
I am trained as a clinical social worker and as a psychoanalyst. I use dreams as a vehicle to understanding deeper issues. Having lived abroad for many years, I am aware of cultural diversity. I believe in a humanistic approach. Mindfulness and art therapy are often integrated into my work.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR TEENAGERS

Adolescents is a time of turmoil and confusion. There is a tug between these two contrasting feelings and needs. Separation from parents and closeness to friends. As parents we must help our teens deal with navigating their feelings with friends and relationships, develop good judgment, self-esteem, peer pressures, use of technology, facebook, texting, sex, drugs, alcohol use. Creating boundaries and decision making skills, giving a balance of freedom and involvement will be touched on. This group provides a safe place to share the multitude of concerns that parents are faced with in today's world.
