DBT Skills Training group based on Dr. Marsha Linehan's 2nd Edition DBT Workbook and Handouts. Modules will include Core Mindfullness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness skills training. Sign Ups are ongoing and the group is open.
Group uses film stories to illustrate problems clients are exploring. Group creates a reflection process of clients sharing insights gained from film and film clips shown. Group is unique in its approach of facilitating conversations in a creative and healing environment.
Group strengthens the skills learned in DBT I or prior treatment with experiential exercises including Mindfulness beach walks, tea in the gardens and intuitive eating, equine therapy for Emotional Regulation, improvisation acting class for Interpersonal Effectiveness communication skills, private yoga class for Distress Tolerance. Group ideal for the client that has a strong foundation in DBT.
