Wai Wong-Miller, MA, LMHC, Counselor in Seattle
I embrace the philosophy of compassion, acceptance, and liberation. Mindfulness is incorporated into my various therapeutic approaches. Mindfulness is being fully engaged in the present moment without judgment. By training our awareness, we can become better observer and listener to our internal and external experiences. We can then truly examine what had or had not worked for us and are more able to make choices that align with our values that are supportive to living well and authentically. My style is interactive in providing listening, various perspectives, and support. The changes you choose to make will be adaptive and sustainable.
As an EMDRIA certified therapist, I use EMDR and a combination of therapy approaches for trauma, abuse, PTSD, phobias, and other emotional issues. I work effectively with individuals, couples, and families with chemical dependency recovery, relationship issues, blended family issues, separation or divorce, infidelity, and various emotional and behavioral issues.
I am experienced in working with clients with diverse races and ethnicity, sexual orientations, and spiritual or religious backgrounds. I offer a free phone consultation to new clients to help decide if we are a good fit. Please visit my website for details and contact me if you have questions.
