I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in a variety of settings: the Army, a women's center, private practice, Dept of Corrections, Dept. of Juvenile Justice and the media (I have had radio and television spots discussing mental health issues). I work with ages 15- and enjoy teaching anger management skills, general stress management/ coping/social skills and dealing with mood disorders and trauma. I work with individuals, couples and famiies to enhance relationships. I believe that for some clients, the therapeutic relationship is the main factor in the therapy.
I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist although certain issues may call for different approaches. Love working with teenagers and adults who are at a crossroads and want to re-discover their own wants and needs and soldiers, first-responders and individuals who have experienced trauma and have the symptoms of PTSD.
I practice in a house that was built in 1900 with a very comfortable atmosphere. You need to know up front that I'm an optimist, an extrovert, and a practical psychologist. In my free time, I do animal rescue work with cats. My dog, Ms. Lilly, is available on Mondays and Wednesdays for therapeutic belly rubs.
