Sound Well Center, LCAT, MT-BC, Creative Arts Therapist in New York
Sound Well Center offers holistic, somatic psychotherapy and wellness services including creative arts therapies, mindfulness, EMDR, and deep listening sound meditations for groups and individuals, providing relief from trauma and anxiety by recognizing our inherent healthy selves through body-mind awareness, creative inquiry, and artistic expression. The approach to our therapeutic work together comes from a place of curiosity and compassion and through the expressive, contemplative arts and mindfulness, we can discover new neural pathways, deepening the connection to wellbeing and nurturing a sustainable healing process.
Katie Down received EMDR training with Dr. Laurell Parnell and post graduate trauma training at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy's Trauma Institute. She facilitates monthly sound meditation classes at MNDFL and Maha Rose, and offers supervision to music therapists and other clinicians using sound in their practice.
Katie has also trained with Musicians Without Borders for community music therapy and mediation and is dedicated to further learning how music can be used as a tool for mutual understanding and peace-building.
