Kimberly Faris, PsyD, Psychologist in Brookline
I am naturally upbeat and enthusiastic and totally invested in motivating individuals, challenging negative thinking and implementing an holistic approach to life. With this comes insightful therapy and tools of empowerment. As a way to engage my patients in their own recovery process they will learn mindfulness and meditation techniques, behavioral modification and interpersonal skills. Patients that have gained success in working with me are those that have struggled with anxiety and depression, addiction, behavioral issues and relationship struggles. I am well suited for any individual who desires the skills to cope with life's challenges
My expertise is behavioral medicine where my primary focus is; hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy, couples work and dialectic behavioral therapy. I've had extensive training at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School Affiliate, and Two Brattle Ctr where the primary focus is Borderline Personality Disorder.
Much of my work incorporates a spiritual perspective. I have found this to be important to many who not only want to understand their emotional and physical pain, but also understand what has meaning in their life. This understanding and exploration provides a more mindful and joyful way of being.
