Are you worried your child or teen is struggling to make or keep friends? Does your child have a hard time in social situations? Do they seem angry, depressed, or anxious? As a parent, are you unsure how to help? I work with children and teens to help them develop new life and social skills using talk, play therapy, and movement. During therapy your child will learn to better recognize their feelings and develop new coping strategies that will help improve their relationships. My goal is to help your child gain a better understanding of them selves and become more connected with others.
Using play therapy, talk, and movement I work with children and teens to make positive behavioral changes. As well as working individually with your child and teen, I believe it is important to partner with parents to track improvement and jointly develop strategies that build on individual sessions.
As well as individual sessions, I offer social skills groups and work individually with parents offering consultation and support.

Groups
Early Elementary School Group
This group introduces common language and understanding around different feelings and helps children learn skills to manage big feelings so they are more in charge of themselves. Some areas we focus on include: Helping kids manage socialization and peer relationships. Helping them understand their own big feelings. Helping them manage their emotions (Emotional Regulation). Discussing and practicing Zones of Regulation Group will help them acquire skills to adapt to their friendships.
