I am not currently accepting new clients. I do welcome child and adult clients with whom I've previously worked. With 44 years of experience, I help people rally their strengths to overcome problems in living which have diminished their success and happiness. A practical, results-oriented psychologist, I believe that when people feel safe and free from criticism they are most able to see new solutions to their difficulties and to try new behaviors. I believe a counseling relationship is most effective when it includes empathy, humor, frank and straightforward discussion and, occasionally, no-nonsense confrontation.
As a general practice psychologist, I work with people of all ages and a wide variety of adjustment difficulties. I see adult men and women in individual therapy and I provide relationship consultation for couples. I am a credentialed mediator available to help resolve conflicts involving family businesses, custody and property.
I have special interests and training in work with troubled adoptees and their families. I see children impaired by behavioral and developmental problems including Asperger's Disorder. I also see adult men and women with problems such as anxiety and depression, substance use, marital conflict and anger-control disorders.
