Michael Loeb, MSW, Pre-Licensed Professional in Westport
I call what I do Collaborative Psychotherapy, because I believe that therapy must be a true working partnership between the client and therapist. I assist and coach my clients in their efforts to handle the challenges in their lives in a more effective and satisfying way by developing new options, choices and solutions. Whether these problems concern relationship or parenting issues, life transitions such as divorce, loss of a loved one, job loss, or more general conditions such as anxiety or depression, I work in tandem with my clients to create positive and lasting change in their lives.
Using a technique I call "CBT With Soul," I help my clients to think about their problems in new ways that can produce real and lasting changes in behavior which can lead to experiencing more satisfaction and joy in relationships and work.
One of the things that distinguishes me from other therapists is the fact that I have had successful careers in law and business prior to becoming a psychotherapist. This real-world experience informs my practice and enables me to relate to a variety of problems from a unique personal perspective.
