My practice primarily treats children, adolescents, and adults through the modalities of individual,family therapy and parental guidance. I approach each client's issues, situations with care and compassion in order to create a non-judgemental space so they can develop their strengths and gain new insights into their symptoms and behaviors. I enjoy the process of building the therapeutic relationship as I believe that it is through relationships people can heal. Much of my experience is treating trauma; anxiety; mood disorders; and transitional issues such as divorce, adoption, loss, and relational issues.
With all populations, I work from an eclectic combination of CBT, client-centered, and psychodynamic framework utilizing relaxation techniques and developing containment strategies to help clients cope with their symptoms. When treating children, I tend to use play therapy as it is safer way for them to express themselves.
Another population that I treat on a regular basis is individuals who self-injure (e.g. cutting, burning), and use relaxation and containment to help them seek alternative coping strategies. Also, I have 5 + years of supervision experience, if for those who are seeking licensure or want to continue supervision as a tool to help their practice.
