Lurline Raposo, MA, RCC, RPT, Counselor in Nanaimo
Are uncomfortable thoughts or feelings affecting your life? Are your child or teen's behaviours stressing you out? Are you feeling stuck? Do you long for deeper family connections? I offer an accepting approach that focuses on moving in the direction of what is most important to you while developing strategies to cope more effectively with difficult thoughts and feelings. If you are a parent, you can improve your closest relationships by learning and practicing connection strategies. Your child/ teen can practice working through thoughts and feelings using approachable, creative tools designed specifically for their unique needs.
I have a lengthy history working with children, teens and their families which is supported by my registration as a play therapist. I have a parenting philosophy that reinforces healthy family bonds. I also support people who are experiencing relationship difficulties or who have experienced past or current traumatic events.
I warmly welcome and have experience counselling ethnically, culturally and sexually diverse people. My office offers the choice of a full play and creative therapy space in addition to the comfortable but more traditional counselling office space. An elevator is available to support mobility limitations. I offer flexible payment options.
