Counseling is about helping you achieve your goals of emotional and mental well being. This could mean overcoming hurtful feelings, changing negative thoughts, and /or stopping destructive behaviors. It also could involve helping with relationships, marriage or family issues that are causing problems. I approach therapy from a holistic framework. Since we are all unique, various approaches such as emotional support, cognitive restructuring, behavioral modification and brief therapy may be helpful.
I Have led groups in domestic violence, codependency, self esteem, addictions, depression, anxiety, grief, abuse, women's issues and trauma. I have taught classes in Psychology and Sociology at the university level as well.
