In my experience, the best kind of conversation - the kind that heals, energizes & changes lives - is thoughtfully paced and as free as possible from the pressures and expedience that can sometimes rule our daily lives.

A very reasonable expectation of talk therapy is that vital psychological energies once tied up in neuroses or made unavailable in the form of unexpressed thoughts & feelings begin to come back online.
