David Byrd, MFTI, Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in Los Angeles
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern specializing in men issues. Reaching out for help shows your strength rather than a weakness. Being a retired military veteran, I have seen how issues can affect individuals, families, and couples. Each individual client presents a uniqueness to how a problem behaviorally reveals itself in their life. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a personalized approach tailored to each client. Therapy is a process of change and self discovery in a safe environment. The therapeutic relationship is a powerful healing tool. My therapeutic style emphasizes client empowerment, warm, and empathic.
As a youth head football coach, I have helped steer many at-risk adolescents from a destructive path and provided tools and mediations for them and their families. Coaching enabled me to understand adolescents and understand the type of struggles they are confronted with on a daily basis.
Today's teens are struggling with different types of issues that we as parents, have not. My past of working with veterans and adolescents motivated me as a therapist to create harmony and balance. I believe that everyone, given the right tools has the potential to live a healthy, happy, and rewarding life.
