As a result of my own personal and professional exploration over the last 40+ years, I work most effectively with individuals who have not succeeded in establishing and sustaining nourishing, satisfying, intimate, committed, relationships in their lives. At this stage of my career, I am interested in working with individuals or couples who want to enhance their capacity for meaningful, intimate relationships.
A history of trauma, including the lack of fulfillment of emotional needs, is what interferes with our ability for successful, intimate relationships.When trauma is present, we have to proceed in an approach to dissolve its effects. I am certified in Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing, a modality specifically designed to deal with trauma.
My wife and I have recently moved from Seattle to Salt Lake City to be closer to our family, especially our grandchildren. My new book, which has just been published, is titled "Healing the Wounds of Childhood: A psychologist's journey and discovery from wretched beginnings to a thriving life."
