Susan Stahl, PhD, Psychologist in Cambridge
I am a licensed behavioral psychologist with over 15 years of experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, impulsivity, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I have advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through a relational approach that is both eclectic and skill based, a key goal of our therapy will be to provide symptom relief and improved quality of life.
My therapeutic approach is direct and engaging with an emphasis on life goals and behavior change. Through active listening, focused questioning, problem solving, skills building and understanding motivations that drive behavior, the client and I collaboratively set the course of our treatment.
I work with adolescents, college students and adults. My practice primarily consists of women, although I do couples therapy and mother-daughter treatment. I also run two advanced Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups for individuals: one for individuals with BPD, and the other for those with Eating Disorders.
