Hello, my name is Lindsey & my experience includes treating people of all ages, genders and sexual preferences with various problems including, but not limited to, grief, physical, sexual and verbal abuse, sexual identity, self-esteem, anger, depression & anxiety. I believe, for therapy to be most effective, it is imperative to uncover the underlying beliefs and events that are the root of one's present day problem(s). I view the therapeutic relationship as one in which a team effort is required; the therapist and client and in some situations, one's family and/or significant other, must work together to make change.
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to effectively assist clients in attaining their desired goals. In addition to EMDR, I have training and experience in using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Impact Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Reality Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling (MA) from West Virginia University and I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
