Carl R Hinrichs, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Albuquerque
I work with a wide array of issues including generalized and social anxiety, trauma, depression, change of life/adjustment issues, grief & loss, and LGBT concerns. I combine a medical model of diagnosing and treating with an empowerment perspective geared toward identifying and supporting strengths. My goal is to help you facilitate change by creating a safe and trusting relationship where confidentiality, non-judgmental acceptance, and collaboration are key.
Common areas addressed with clients of sexual and/or gender minority include coming out, family issues, relationships, social stigma, and gender dysphoria and transitioning. I use a holistic framework that encompasses exploring and healing the bio, psycho, social, sexual, and spiritual aspects of self to create balance and inner peace.
Many of my clients are quite high-functioning and tend to be underdiagnosed and/or undertreated by prior helping professionals. This can be especially true with depression and social anxiety. If you are feeling alone, please know that help is available by simply calling or sending an e-mail.
