Jessica Spence, MC, NCC, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor in Greensboro
I believe my clients are the experts on themselves-- I just use my knowledge and experience to help guide, teach, and support along the way. I work hard to make sure my office is a safe place of non-judgment where people can take risks, be vulnerable, and learn about themselves. I am calm, grounded, attentive, open-minded, and caring. I know when to give my clients a supportive nudge toward change and when to listen with empathy. Clients appreciate that I am gentle, yet firm, with challenging them.
I work well with people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, low self-esteem, assertiveness, trauma, relationship stress, and life adjustments/transitions. I'm affirming of people who traditionally may feel like outsiders: i.e., LGBTQI community, gay/lesbian families, atheists, and those with strong political values.
I have extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, substance abuse treatment, and transgender health. I am also trained in play therapy modalities and use sand tray and art. I am willing to accommodate my clients' differences- I'll use whatever works!
