Marcie O'Neil, MSW, LISW-S, MSW, LISW-S, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Cincinnati
I have worked in private practice since 1995. In that time, I have come to appreciate the collaboration and interplay between my clients and myself. I encourage people to pursue adaptations of their ideas, life choices and relationships as a way of taking charge of their own lives. Usually it takes many small shifts and multiple steps to lead to a beneficial outcome. It's not easy but therapy can be rewarding and life altering with the development of insight and the use of extra support to move forward.
I have worked with a broad base of mental illness and life problems in inpatient and outpatient settings. I have done extensive training in the treatment of couples and families and specialize in the treatment of PTSD using EMDR as a treatment tool. Recently completion iRest level II teacher training.
Though I have traditional experience in psychotherapy, I have been meditating for 15 years and use these skills in my work to help people experience calm and peacefulness. Once a person learns to create a more peaceful mindset they become able to access those feelings on a more regular basis.
