Rosie Newman, Rosie, Newman, LMHC, CMHS, RPT, Counselor in Seattle
I specialize in counseling young children, ages 2-16. Often children show us how they are feeling through their behaviors. Some children show us with big meltdowns and aggression, others are quiet, reserved or maybe anxious and not wanting to leave your side. When we view these behaviors as communication, and your child begins therapy, together, we are able to uncover the feeling beneath the behavior and give voice to the child's needs.
I primarily use a method called Play Therapy in working with young children. In Play Therapy, the child uses play to communicate feelings. Play Therapy not only reduces behavioral symptoms, it supports the development of the whole child by building self esteem and improving problem solving and social skills.
