Nadine Fish, LMSW, CAADC, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Portage
There are many reasons why people seek counseling. Sometimes it's to deal with long-standing issues with anxiety or depression; other times it is in response to unexpected changes in life such as a divorce, a death or work transition. Therapy provides insight & new perspectives into life's challenges, helps you to create solutions & confidence to make changes. I create a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your choices & emotions, to give you the opportunity to gain insight, self-confidence & new coping skills to navigate life's obstacles more effectively.
As a cognitive therapist I focus on the present, helping you to solve current problems. With CBT, you will learn specific skills that you can use for the rest of your life. These skills involve identifying distorted thinking, modifying beliefs, relating to others in different ways, and changing behaviors.
I'll help you realize you CAN overcome panic disorder.

Nadine Fish's Groups

CBT group therapy

Using the Mind Over Mood book to teach skills and principles used in cognitive behavioral therapy. Through group therapy participants learn to change their thinking to more positive realistic thinking. As a therapist I once thought individual therapy was superior but have learned that this is not so; conversely, people learn and grow from supporting and sharing with others in group. Group therapy is truly dynamic.
