Sue Snyder Pederson, LCSW, SEP, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Austin
I welcome people to my practice who are want to feel a greater sense of connection with themselves and with others. Think of the expression: "feeling like myself". To fully connect with others we first need to be able to feel like ourselves. I often work with people who have experienced traumas, resulting in the sense of isolation. For some, there's an identified event with a lasting impact. Others don't know what went wrong, but still feel something about them is wrong. I believe re-establishing connection to self is key to resolving many problems and finding a sense of empowerment.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practioner who enjoys working with a wide variety of people wanting to change habitual patterns, even those patterns that may seem completely out of their control. My speciality is to help people resolve the impact of overwhelming circumstances, regaining a natural sense of regulation and wellness.
Empowerment has been a major focus of my work as a clinical social worker. Additionally I now bring my perspective as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a powerful approach developed to help people use their innate ability to overcome the impact of trauma.
