Robert M Johnson, MA, LCPC, CPAIP, Counselor in Chicago
I find that people seek counseling for a variety of reasons: 1. Crisis (arrest, divorce, job loss). 2. Tackle a chronic problem with addiction (sex, alcohol, drugs)., 3. Face the effects of life trauma (assault, abuse, neglect, loss), 4. Reduce fear, anger, anxiety, stress, or sadness, and 5. Increase success, love, and enjoyment. Basic unmet needs become layered with complicated feelings and behaviors over the course of life. For many, counseling significantly improves the success rate in responding to these needs. Together, we can find a path to healing and to living life more fully.
I have studied Neo-Jungian psychology with Dr. Robert L. Moore since 1995. His theories as summarized in the book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover. I use this approach to assess how each client is accessing these archetypal energies in his/her daily life and work toward an optimal balance.
Counseling is my second career. My first career was in computer technology. I had the fortune of working for companies such as IBM and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. I bring depth of background in business to my practice
